Representatives from the Stroke Support Asssociation, including Executive Director Suzanne Brodsly, will be present at the Senior Health Fair, Friday, June 17, 2016, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  Please visit our table to learn about how our weekly support groups and other services may help stroke survivors and caretakers recover after the effects of a stroke.

Lakewood’s Senior Health Fair will be held Friday, June 17, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Weingart Senior Center at 5220 Oliva Avenue (just south of Candlewood Street and west of Lakewood Boulevard).

Free screenings and health-related information will be available throughout the morning. The event is free and open to the public.

Lunch is available for those 60+ provided by the Human Services Association at the usual donation of $2.25. Those under the age of 60 are welcome to eat at a cost of $4.50.

Health screenings typically featured include:
• Hearing tests
• Balance testing
• Glucose and blood pressure testing
• Cholesterol screening
• Bone density
• Body fat analysis
• Grip strength

About The Weingart Senior Center
Located near the corner of Lakewood and Candlewood, the center provides activities and services for seniors. You must be at least 50 years of age to participate in the recreational activities.
