On November 4th, 2025, Wendy Block, a clinical social worker and psychotherapist, gave a presentation titled Learning to Live with Loss and Change to Stroke Support Association’s in-person support groups in Long Beach, CA. She repeated the presentation for our November 5th online groups.

Wendy discussed her personal experience of coping with the impact of stroke on the individual and family members and how stroke survivors and their caregivers can create resilience and thrive.

The concepts presented include Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindful Self-Compassion, ambiguous grief, and radical acceptance.
