10.14.21You are invited to join Stroke Support Association Wednesday, October 27, 2021 via Zoom at 10:00-11:30 AM PT.
Stroke Support Association will be hosting a Q&A with SSA Board member and Program Director of Neuroscience/Stroke at Long Beach Medical Center Angie West, MSN, RN, CCRN-K, SCRN, ANVP. West will answer your stroke-related medical questions, such as the following topics that have come up at our support groups:
- Spasticity: causes, treatments, and ways to cope
- Neuroplasticity: What is it? How will it help me compensate for my stroke-caused deficits?
- Pseudobulbar Affect: Why do I cry or laugh in a way that I find overblown or inappropriate?
- Issues with memory/cognition, speech/reading/swallowing, and walking.
Please come prepared with your questions. The ones above are simply examples of questions that you might pose.
This meeting combines the stroke survivor and caregiver groups. There will be no separate groups on this day.
