2025 Annual Potluck Picnic Recap

Stroke Support Association’s Annual Picnic took place on August 12, 2025, at Mae Boyar Park in Lakewood, California. Participants were treated to lovely, unseasonably cool weather, making for a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor gathering.

Attendance

Approximately thirty people attended the event, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The group included a few individuals who are rarely seen at our regular support group meetings, several new attendees, and many core members. Seven board members were also present, each contributing to the spirit and smooth running of the picnic.

Activities and Entertainment

Music set the tone for the day, with a “Picnic Music Mix” played via Spotify. Families and friends played frisbee, and everyone enjoyed a variety of delicious potluck dishes contributed by attendees. The picnic also featured the group’s customary raffle, where many lovely plants were given to delighted winners

Highlights

The most enjoyable aspect of the day: the vibrant and warm conversations shared among stroke survivors, caregivers, and board members. These meaningful interactions underscored the supportive and inclusive nature of the association, creating lasting memories for all who attended.
