Please attend a free presentation being held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 10:00-10:30 AM, followed by regular support groups at California Heights United Methodist Church 3759 Orange Ave (at Bixby), Long Beach, CA.

Caregivers and family members are welcome to attend.

Stroke survivors face special challenges when it comes to aging.

Dr. Nancy Gibbs, a retired Kaiser Geriatrician and Palliative Care physician, as well as a stroke survivor herself, will cover these age-related stroke concerns:

  • Communicating with your doctor
  • Rehabilitation
  • Special issues with aging after stroke
  • Risks and prevention of additional strokes

 

About the Presenter:

Dr. Nancy Gibbs served for many years as the lead physician in Long Term Care, Hospice and Home Health at Kaiser. She also served as policy leader in Geriatrics and Palliative Care through the Kaiser Program Office.  Having grown up in Chicago, she now lives in Seal Beach Leisure World with a part-time home in Palm Desert. Nancy is a passionate follower of sports, and played a good game of tennis and golf. She is a stroke survivor.
