The Hospital Visitor Program continues
to contact survivors and family members new to stroke in rehabilitation
programs at Memorial Medical Center (LBMMC) and St. Mary Medical
Center (SMMC).
The visitors are stroke survivor and family member
volunteers selected from the program and trained as visitors.
This program is modeled after the Mended Hearts visitor program.
The visits are to assure people new to stroke that they are
not alone and to provide contact information for resources related
to stroke recovery. Contacts average approximately 10 per week.
