| Those living with the significant
changes and losses that come with stroke, almost without exception,
find social isolation, financial and health challenges, changes
in relationships and other issues which compromise the quality
of their lives. The Stroke Support Association serves to diminish
the social isolation and improve the meeting of challenges through
facilitator-guided discussions and encouragement from peers.
The stroke prevention information offered throughout the sessions
strives to reduce risk factors which existed prior to the stroke
and to promote knowledge for improving health and quality of
life for both stroke survivors and their families. Programs
such as this are rare or non-existent elsewhere. |
